My husband is having constant bad night sweats?

Alisha Y asked:

For quite some time now my husbands has had night sweats. (the last few years) Lately (last couple of weeks) its been happening every night and i’m talking drenched with sweat. He’s not having nightmares and it’s not too hot. He’s not sick and there is no other symptoms other than he talks in his sleep a lot but i’m not sure if that means anything because he’s been doing that since he was little.

What do you think could be the cause?

He is also a smoker….just started in late 2007

He gets nervous everytime he sleeps with you.

    I suggest different beds.

It could be from the smoke toxins leaving the body, its like alcohol, and that why you can tell some people have been drinking, because of the sweating.

Not to scare you, but night sweats can be a symptom of cancer or of a metabolic disorder.

Even if it is not hot, I have to use a ceiling fan to circulate the air or I get the same thing. In summer, the blades blow the air down to help supplement the A/C system. In the winter, I flip the switch so the fan pulls the air up & still circulates the air. Flip the mattress over. Maybe he’s not getting a good sound sleep. He needs to watch his food intake for the last half of the day. Avoid highly seasoned, spicy foods for dinner. Only light snacks between dinner & bedtime. Does he drink beer? That can have an effect also.
